Clinical Laboratory Register

The Public Health (Clinical Laboratories) Regulations 2002 requires the Bermuda Health Council to maintain and publish an annual register of all clinical laboratories operating on island. This register provides information about laboratories on island, and helps to ensure that clinical testing is performed in facilities that are safe, skilled, and effective. All persons who wish to operate such a facility must make application to the Bermuda Health Council for registration which will be granted for a period of two years. Performing laboratory tests without the Bermuda Health Council’s approval is a violation of the Public Health Act 1949, which may be punishable by fines and imprisonment.
