2021: Bermuda CPT Procedure Utilisation and Expenditure
The Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set is a medical code set maintained by the American Medical Association through the CPT Editorial Panel. The CPT code set (copyright protected by the AMA) describes medical, surgical, and diagnostic services and is designed to communicate uniform information about medical services and procedures among physicians, coders, patients, accreditation organizations, and payers for administrative, financial, and analytical purposes. Note: This data is not all inclusive of Bermuda’s healthcare experience. Utilization of healthcare services using alternate coding methods in Bermuda are not included in this dataset. In the following weeks, additional datasets will be updated to provide more information about procedures being carried out in Bermuda and abroad. It is the goal of the Health Council to continue to standardize coding activities towards a CPT based system for a more robust dataset. The data is segmented into categories of Surgery, Radiology, Medicine, Evaluation and Management, and Anesthesia.
